Vermont moves to implement new law that is seen as a “road map” to a single-payer health care system.
Vermont is about to accomplish something the federal government couldn’t — the state is on track to having a single-payer health care system. If Vermont does get it right, it could see more businesses and jobs coming in, supporters say.
All Vermont residents would receive health benefits paid for by the state, regardless of their employment status or income.
