Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center announced today that it will layoff 83 members of its staff. The Center blamed the global economic downturn. While income from federal research grants and contracts have remained stable, income from donations and investments is down, the Center said.
Starting January 29, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center will be offering a series of four free evening lectures on the fundamentals of cancer and cancer research for the general public by top scientists.
