Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center announced today that it will layoff 83 members of its staff. The Center blamed the global economic downturn. While income from federal research grants and contracts have remained stable, income from donations and investments is down, the Center said.
All the models gracing the catwalk at this year’s Surviving with Style Fashion show to benefit Gilda’s Club of Seattle will be cancer survivors. Men, women and children’s fashions will be featured at the fashion show and luncheon, which will be held Tuesday, April 28th at The Westin in downtown Seattle.
