Event: Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness

 The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program will host its third annual Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness educational event on Saturday, June 13, 2009.  The event, which is designed for cancer patients and survivors including caregivers, friends, family and health care professionals, is free, but registration is required.

Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center to layoff 83

 Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center announced today that it will layoff 83 members of its staff. The Center blamed the global economic downturn. While income from federal research grants and contracts have remained stable, income from donations and investments is down, the Center said.
