VM names five to leadership posts

Virginia Mason Medical Center has appointed five new medical leaders.

Catherine J. Potts, MD, has been named chief of Primary Care. Potts joined Virginia Mason in 1993 and has been practicing at VM Bellevue since 1994.

She has served as section head at Bellevue since 1995 and deputy chief of Satellites since 1999.

Potts received medical school training from the University of Washington, where she also completed a primary care internal medicine residency.

Julia Pollock, MD, has been named chief of Anesthesiology. Among her many contributions to VM, she has been the anesthesiology residency director since 2006.

She is president-elect of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, and has numerous peer-review publications to her credit.

Pollock graduated from Carson-Newman College and East Tennessee College of Medicine. She completed an internship and residency in anesthesiology at Baylor University in Houston.

Seth Schwartz, MD, MPH, has been named medical director of the Listen for Life Center at Virginia Mason, which provides hearing-related health services.

Schwartz received medical school training at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. He completed a general surgery internship and otolaryngology residency at the University of Washington.

He also completed a fellowship in otology and neurotology at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand. In addition, Schwartz holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Washington School of Public Health.

Michael Myint, MD, recently joined Virginia Mason in the Section of Infectious Disease and will serve as section head.

Myint received medical school training at Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

He completed an internal medicine residency at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison.

He also completed an infectious disease fellowship at the University of Washington.

Molly Linhardt, MD, has been named section head of VM Winslow. Linhardt received medical school training from Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland.

She completed a pediatrics residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
