Diabetes classes begin May 14

Virginia Mason Offers “Going for the Goal” Diabetes Classes

WHAT:

The Benaroya Diabetes Center at Virginia Mason is now offering new diabetes management classes called “Going for the Goal.”

The class series helps people with diabetes make behavioral changes related to nutrition and exercise.

Participants learn diabetes management strategies and set personal goals in the first class, then meet again to discuss how they’ve applied the new strategies, including stress management, as they’ve focused on behavioral changes.

WHEN:

Fridays beginning May 14 from 7 to 9 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m.

WHERE:

Virginia Mason Seattle Main Campus

COST:

Classes are covered by Medicare and most other health plans. Scholarships are available.

WHO:

People living with diabetes, particularly those patients struggling with reaching the target hemoglobin A1c of 7 or below.
