Cancer: what you really want to know — Free Symposium

Gilda’s Club Seattle and the NW Association for Biomedical Research will sponsor a free symposium that they promise will offer information about cancer research translated into language that we can all understand.

Here’s the announcement:

1/16/10  Symposium:  Cancer:  What People Really Want to Know
Cancer affects every American by the end of their lifetime, through their own diagnosis or that of a loved one.  Experts will discuss cutting edge cancer research, why you should care about the cancer research process; bioethics; and how to feel more empowered.

What you will experience:

  • access cancer and research experts
  • receive information about cutting edge cancer research in straightforward language
  • learn practical tips on how to receive the best possible care in the event of a cancer diagnosis
  • explore the ethical components of biomedical research
  • and connect with people like yourself.

This is a free event.  Complimentary lunch provided.  Donations accepted.

Childcare provided on-site with 48+ hours advanced notice, for those potty trained to age 12. S

pace for up to 12 children with board and video games, art, and movies.

    Wow! This event looks fantastic. I know so many people with cancer. I hope I never get it, but the odds are I will. Maybe this cancer workshop will provide some good info in a creative way. Looks like there are some good speakers too. And FREE??
