Northwest Hospital to join UW Medicine health system
Northwest Hospital & Medical Center will formally join the UW Medicine health system, University and Northwest Hospital said today.
Northwest Hospital and UW have collaborated in areas of patient care, research and education as part of a Cooperative Program Agreement since 1997.
The new affiliation was endorsed by the University of Washington Board of Regents today. A formal agreement is expected to be struck by the end of the year.
UW Medicine currently has six affiliated organizations:
- Harborview Medical Center
- University of Washington Medical Center
- UW Medicine Neighborhood Clinics
- University of Washington Physicians
- Airlift Northwest
- UW School of Medicine.
UW Medicine is also a corporate member the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Children’s University Medical Group and has close ties with Seattle Children’s, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System.
