Minor & James Medical LogoSeattle’s Swedish Medical Center will become a joint equity partner in the physician group Minor & James Medical, the two organizations announced today.

Minor & James Medical (MJM) is a 72-physician, multi-specialty organization with clinics in Seattle, Bellevue and on Mercer Island.

Under the new arrangement, Swedish will have two of the nine physician members of the MJM’s governing board, according to a press release from Swedish announcing the new partnership.

MJM’s doctors, however, will retain control of all clinical operations within the practice, the release said.

“Swedish and MJM will work closely together to create long-term growth for the medical group. The plan is to gain operational efficiencies, as well as to expand Minor & James Medical to meet future specialty-care needs of the Greater Seattle community,” the release said.

Patients will continue to see their regular Minor & James Medical doctors and there will be no disruption of services, the release said.
