Dr. Mac Cheever, Director of Solid Tumor Research for the FHCRC/SCCA, will discuss progress in finding a cure for cancer, as well as the clinical trials process necessary to identify and develop effective therapies and cures. He’ll talk about the interrelated desire of patients to receive the best new therapies, and their contrasting worry about being a research “guinea pig”. He’ll also spot light the history of cancer research in Seattle, the process of testing patients, and the current availability of innovative therapies in Seattle. Free and open to the public. Trick or treat! When it comes to Halloween, Gilda‚s Club celebrates big every year at our Annual Halloween party. Featuring the International Pirates, fortune telling, a fish pond, face painting, cookie decorating, games, prizes, and a SCARRRRRY haunted house. Snacks are provided. Come in costume and bring your friends and family. This event is free and open to the public, and is for anyone with cancer, their loved ones, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, medical professionals, service providers, and their families.
