Hospital News: Virginia Mason hosts “Stroke Awareness Open House”

BrainVirginia Mason will host a Stroke Awareness Open House Monday, May 18th from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The event will include talks by neurology experts on stroke prevention and tips for caregivers. There will also be demonstration of “Wii-hab”, rehabilitation therapy using the popular Nintendo Wii device.

Speakers will include Timothy Scearce, MD, neurologist, Group Health, and Kris Rhoads, PhD, neuropsychologist, Virginia Mason. Virginia Mason’s Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Clinic staff will provide information on stroke risk screening.
