Seattle Red Cross calls for “Everyday Hero” nominations

Seattle Red Cross is calling for people to nominate “Everyday Heros”, individuals who may have saved a life performing CPR or pulling someone from a burning building or has raised money to help someone in need. 

Winners of the Red Cross’s “Everyday People, Everyday Heroes” awards will be honored at the Red Cross’s Thirteenth Annual Heroes Breakfast to be held March 29, 2009.

The awards are given in several categories, such as Fire, Police, Workplace Safety, Adult & Youth Good Samaritan as well as Nature and Medical Rescue.

“The nominee must be a resident of, or employed within, King County or the heroic act must have occurred in King County. The heroic act must be ongoing or have occurred between December 1, 2007, and November 30, 2008.”

Is There an “Everyday Hero” in Your Community?

SEATTLE, September 30, 2008 – The American Red Cross Serving King & Kitsap Counties is looking for “everyday heroes” from your community. Do you know someone who performed life-saving CPR, pulled a person from a burning building or raised money to help someone in need? A real, local hero.

The Red Cross will honor the heroes on March 26, 2009 at the Thirteenth Annual Heroes Breakfast.
